Passionate about art since she was young, Australian based artist, Nicky Kriss believes creativity is in her blood.
Nicky quickly turned her two-year long hobby creating abstract inspired artworks into a profession, that has seen her artwork featured on Australian renovation TV Series “The Block”, having commissioned a mind blowing four artworks in one single apartment for Luke and Ebony of WA.
This opportunity propelled Nicky’s name across Australia and her work is now proudly installed in homes across the nation, and fortunately internationally; United Kingdom, USA and Canada.
Nicky’s paints on canvas and linen materials with acrylic, ink and even house paints. Her main motivation is her creative ‘eye’ for bringing together colour assortments that are intriguing and inspiring, and she is told regularly that her work brings feelings of calm, happiness, peace, energy and optimism.
Nicky is continually very humbled and grateful to have made some amazing connections with her clients, not to mention the opportunities which presented themselves in six years of painting.
April 2016 was her first exhibition - artexpo [SOLO] New York, showcasing her work on an international level. September of the same year, Nicky participated in “Art and Colours” a group exhibition in London.
In 2017, Nicky exhibited her work with Finders Keepers in Melbourne successfully selling over 10 paintings.
In June 2019, Nicky showcased in Melbourne with international art organisation “RAW Natural Born Artists”, and also exhibited at the Tatura Rotary Community Art Show.
Nicky is proudly partnered with the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre, contributing $5 from every yoga mat sold to the charity organisation, and in recent years has supported Love Your Sister, Good Friday Appeal, Brainwave Australia and Epilepsy Action Australia through the sales and donations of artworks.
When not elbow deep in paint, Nicky is busy being a mother to her nine and one year old daughters, a kindergarten assistant within the Steiner philosophy and a University student. She has traveled the world and loves the beach in particular (any beach will do!) and to spend time with her family and friends.
